Baseball Recap: Saranac Spartans vs. AuSable Valley Patriots
Saranac had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the AuSable Valley Patriots 20-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won nine in a row.
Austin Lareau was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowing only two earned runs while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
