Softball Recap: Bessemer City Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Bessemer City and Union Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Bessemer City had to settle for second. They lost 17-0 to the Cardinals. The Yellow Jackets just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 defeats in a row.

Bessemer City's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Union Academy, they pushed their record up to 22-1 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Bessemer City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union Academy, they will challenge South Stanly on Friday. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
