Softball Recap: Mission Oak Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Mission Oak was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sunnyside on Tuesday. Mission Oak put the hurt on Sunnyside with a sharp 15-4 win. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Kim Cortez was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Taylor Shepherd was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Mission Oak was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory snapped Mission Oak's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-7-1 record. As for Sunnyside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Mission Oak didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-4 win against Reedley on the 27th. As for Sunnyside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-6 loss against Hoover on the 28th.
