Softball Recap: Mohave Accelerated's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 15

Mohave Accelerated entered their tilt with Wickenburg on Saturday with 14 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 15. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Wranglers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 two weeks ago.

Kennedy Lamb made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Tanner Banks was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. She has been hot, having posted three or more RBI the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lucy Wickham, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Mohave Accelerated kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 24 consecutive contests.

Mohave Accelerated's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wickenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13.

Coming up, Mohave Accelerated will be playing in front of their home fans against Tombstone at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellow Jackets have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. Wickenburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
