Basketball Recap: Clearfield Comes Up Short

Clearfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 70-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Salem Hills Skyhawks.

Elijah Gasser was his usual excellent self, shooting 70% from the field to rack up 17 points and eight boards for Salem Hills. Gasser is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Blake Scott was another key player, going 5-for-10 on his way to 12 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Clearfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Salem Hills, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Clearfield will venture away from home to square off against Weber at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salem Hills, they will welcome Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Skyhawks surely won't give up without a fight.
