Soccer Game Preview: Easley vs. Powdersville

The Easley Green Wave will venture away from home to face off against the Powdersville Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Easley has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while Powdersville will arrive with 14 straight wins.

Easley fell victim to Greenwood and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that Easley have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Powdersville kept a clean sheet against Palmetto two weeks ago. They blew past the Mustangs 7-0. It was an even better day for Brody Pike as he scored three goals for his team.

Powdersville pushed their record up to 14-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four games. As for Easley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Easley came up short against Powdersville when the teams last played back in March, falling 2-0. Can the Green Wave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
