Lewis Cass is 0-3 against Whitko since May of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Kings will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Lewis Cass turned things around against Northwestern on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Tigers.

Ruth (Amma) Fitzhugh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Laney Davis was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Ava Hubner was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Lewis Cass lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Whitko had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Braves a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Addie Garr's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 18 Ks.
On the hitting side, Whitko let Chloe Keen and Kaylee Adkins run wild. Keen went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Adkins went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Adkins has posted since back in May of 2024.
Whitko's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lewis Cass, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-6.
