It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northwestern had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the American Patriots as they made off with a 26-6 win. The Bulls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Northwestern found their leader in freshman Jade Yacinthe, who threw for 155 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.2% of her passes, and also rushed for 63 yards on only five carries.

Northwestern didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Alexie Nicolas and Jah'Keriyah Brown. Nicolas also set a new season-high mark in defended passes with four. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory was the third in a row for Northwestern, bringing their record up to 9-2. As for American, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Northwestern will square off against Mater Lakes Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bulls 5.9, the Bears 7.8) so any points scored will be well earned. American does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
