Basketball Recap: Northern York Comes Up Short

Northern York played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 84-33 defeat at the hands of the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers. The Polar Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-21.

Chase Smucker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lampeter-Strasburg, going 19-for-28 on his way to 50 points and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Smucker has scored at least a third of Lampeter-Strasburg's points. Chase Messinger was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Northern York's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Northern York will square off against East Pennsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, they will face off against West York Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
