Basketball Recap: The Ehrhart School Takes a Loss

The Ehrhart School extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 2-7. They fell 58-51 to the Good Samaritan HomeSchool Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-19 back in November.

Despite the loss, The Ehrhart School still got an impressive performance from Blake Byars, who went 8-for-15 from beyond the arc en route to 37 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Byars has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 20 points, but 0-6 otherwise. Christian Magaleno was another key player, putting up four points along with seven assists, six steals, and five rebounds.

As for Good Samaritan HomeSchool, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 55.3 points this season.

It was another big night for George Fogo, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 18 points and six steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Fogo, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 15 points and seven boards.

Looking ahead, The Ehrhart School will face off against Texas Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Good Samaritan HomeSchool, they will challenge Anahuac at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
