Basketball Recap: Mission Vista Takes a Loss

Mission Vista lost against Sage Creek back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mission Vista lost 67-45 to the Sage Creek Bobcats. While losing is never fun, Mission Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1144th, while Sage Creek is ranked 175th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sage Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sam Jahries, who posted 18 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Jahries a new career-high in points. Vaughn Young was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Mission Vista has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 17 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season. As for Sage Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, Mission Vista will take on Ramona at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ramona knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Mission Vista likes a good challenge. As for Sage Creek, they have already played their next contest, a 62-52 loss against Victory Christian Academy on the 8th.
