Mesquite lost to St. Mary last Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Knights by a score of 9-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Mesquite got a big performance out of Jensen Jones, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Kash Rogers also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Mesquite was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Mary's only posted a batting average of .267.

Mesquite's record now sits at 14-6. As for St. Mary's, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-7.

Looking ahead, Mesquite will head out on the road to face off against Campo Verde at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Coyotes have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for St. Mary's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cactus Shadows at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
