On Friday Alyssa Maurer struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. The performance marked the fewest earned runs Maurer has had since back in May of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her third in a row with more than nine strikeouts. On the year, she has been strong no matter where she plays. On the mound, she has an ERA of 8.61 over 33.3 innings pitched. Meanwhile, at bat she has slashed 0.586/0.721/1.000 with 20 runs, plus 10 stolen bases.

Maurer's strong effort led Tonopah over Eureka and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
