Softball Recap: Queen's Grant Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Queen's Grant can now relate to. They fell just short of the Highland Tech Rams by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Addi Benton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Queen's Grant saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Steele, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Queen's Grant's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Highland Tech, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Queen's Grant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland Tech, they will take on East Wilkes on Friday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
