Basketball Recap: Chester Cyclones vs. Clinton Red Devils

The Chester Cyclones's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Clinton at home and fell 64-16. Chester has struggled against the Red Devils recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clinton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mylayja Thompson, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and five assists. Thompson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Clark, who scored 11 points along with six steals.

Chester has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Clinton, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Chester does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clinton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Emerald has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
