Soccer Recap: Springstead's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Despite a strong season so far, Springstead has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They lost 6-1 to the Mitchell Mustangs on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Mustangs are ranked 25th).

Springstead's goal came courtesy of Tyler Siebe, who's now up to eight this season.

Springstead's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. As for Mitchell, they pushed their record up to 13-1-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Springstead take on the Fivay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Springstead is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.6 goals per game this season. As for Mitchell, they will welcome River Ridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mitchell knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three games -- so hopefully River Ridge likes a good challenge.
