Basketball Recap: Everett Comes Up Short

After flying high against Marysville-Pilchuck on Friday, Everett came back down to earth. The Seagulls fell 53-44 to the Gig Harbor Tides on Monday. The contest marked the Seagulls' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Everett saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Owens went 5-for-10 on his way to 16 points and six assists. Owens also brought in his first three-point shooting accuracy of the season. Henry Selders was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Everett's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Gig Harbor, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Everett wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-52 win against Marysville Getchell on the 14th. As for Gig Harbor, they have also already played their next matchup, a 49-28 victory against Timberline on the 14th.
