Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Central

While Central's win against Baker wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Central Jaguars had just enough and edged out the Baker Gators 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Jaguars have posted against the Gators since March 10, 2022.

Quincy Wilson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Reeves, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Baker struck out 12 times.

The win was the third in a row for Central, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Baker, they moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Central will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. Lighthouse Private Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Baker, they will challenge Notre Dame at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Baker also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 11.3 runs per game.
