Basketball Recap: Homewood Continues Home Dominance on Friday

There's no place like home for Homewood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hartselle Tigers on Friday, sneaking past 58-56. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Homewood was led to victory by Hayes DeCoudres and Latham Binkley. DeCoudres went 6 for 7 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds, while Binkley went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points. Those 15 points gave DeCoudres a new career-high. Daniel Vinson was another key player, putting up ten points and six assists.

Homewood's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. As for Hartselle, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

When Homewood and Hartselle next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Homewood will try to stop Minor's nine-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Hartselle will try to stop Athens' three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
