Basketball Recap: Freedom Piles Up the Points Against Forest Park

Freedom entered their tilt with Forest Park on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Forest Park Bruins 63-8. That looming 63-8 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Freedom's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Savannah Price led the charge by going 8 for 12 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Price has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Keilana Johnson, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points and three steals.

Freedom has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points per game. As for Forest Park, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Freedom didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-34 defeat against Glen Allen on the 21st. Forest Park and Westfield will round out the year against one another at at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
