Basketball Game Preview: McConnellsburg Spartans vs. Everett Warriors

McConnellsburg has won seven straight games at home, while Everett has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The McConnellsburg Spartans just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Everett Warriors at 7:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Monday, McConnellsburg earned a 56-43 victory over Mount Union. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Trojans are ranked 565th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McConnellsburg relied on the efforts of Hoyt Glenn, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals, and Brayden Ramsey, who posted 20 points in addition to six boards and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Glenn a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Dominic Jefferson, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Everett hadn't done well against Southern Fulton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everett breezed by Southern Fulton to the tune of 63-36. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Warriors had established a 21 point advantage.

Everett is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for McConnellsburg, their win bumped their record up to 17-1.

Everything came up roses for McConnellsburg against Everett when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 49-19 victory. Does McConnellsburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Everett turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
