Football Game Preview: Blytheville Chickasaws vs. Trumann Wildcats + Official Tickets

The Blytheville Chickasaws will face off against the Trumann Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Blytheville is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Gosnell on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Chickasaws took a blow against the Pirates, falling 47-12. The Chickasaws were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-6.

Blytheville might have lost, but man, Courtney Rogers was a machine: he rushed for 136 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Rogers is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 129 every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Trumann was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of Pocahontas.

Blytheville will have to contain Arzell Rulford as he made an impact in Trumann's last game. He rushed for 103 yards and a pair of scores.

Trumann's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Blytheville, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Blytheville has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 208.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Trumann struggles in that department as they've been averaging 225 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Blytheville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Trumann in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 26-20 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Wildcats' Tony Postell Jr, who rushed for 228 yards and one TD while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Chickasaws to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
