Monroe hasn't had much luck against Bellbrook recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hornets will face off against the Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Monroe will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Monroe had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Clermont Northeastern on Thursday. The Hornets blew past the Rockets 10-4. The Hornets not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 13-7).

Hannah Witte was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Peoples, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Avery Asher also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Monroe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clermont Northeastern only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Bellbrook lost 19-1 to Talawanda on Thursday.
Monroe's record is now 7-11. As for Bellbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Monroe hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bellbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Monroe was able to grind out a solid win over Bellbrook in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 8-4. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
