Basketball Recap: Levi Thomas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bethel Christian Academy over Shining Rock Classical Academy

Bethel Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shining Rock Classical Academy Falcons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-30 back in December of 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Levi Thomas, who went 6 for 14 en route to 18 points along with five boards and three steals. Will Jones was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Shining Rock Classical Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hudson Moody led the charge by scoring 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Curry, who posted ten points.

Bethel Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Shining Rock Classical Academy, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-12.

Bethel Christian Academy will welcome Mount Pisgah Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shining Rock Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
