Baseball Recap: Kennedy Triumphs

It's playoff time, and Kennedy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Farragut Admirals 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crusaders have posted since April 22nd.

Exequiel Vargas was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Thaddeus Krol was another key player, earning one run and three stolen bases.

Kennedy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-15. As for Farragut, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 9-11 record.

Looking ahead, Kennedy will host Disney II at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Farragut, they will challenge Little Village at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Phoenix have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.63 runs per game on average), something the Admirals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
