Softball Recap: High Point Academy Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for High Point Academy's offense. They fell just short of the Mid-Carolina Rebels by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.

The result came thanks to Julie Raines's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, High Point Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyleigh Lawter, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

High Point Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Mid-Carolina, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-14.

As of now, neither High Point Academy nor the Rebels have any future games scheduled.
