Lanham Christian entered their tilt with Evergreen Christian on Saturday with 13 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 14. They put the hurt on the Evergreen Christian Eagles with a sharp 65-40 victory. The Lions pushed the score to 50-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had little chance of recovering from.

Lanham Christian had a senior duo take command as Naz Joy almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds and Dominic Carr dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Joy has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamar Payen, who posted 11 points and eight boards.

Lanham Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matches.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jafet Valencia, who had six points in addition to 11 rebounds and three blocks. Valencia has become a key player for Evergreen Christian: the team is 16-6 when he posts at least eight boards, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jackson Britt, who scored nine points and five rebounds.

Lanham Christian pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.2 points per game. As for Evergreen Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.

Lanham Christian and Evergreen Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. Lanham Christian (ranked 28th) will meet Calverton (ranked 250th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lanham Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.1 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Evergreen Christian will take on Covenant Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday up 248 places (36 vs. 284).
