Basketball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for South Whidbey

South Whidbey hadn't done well against Eastside Prep recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The South Whidbey Falcons walked away with a 46-33 victory over Eastside Prep. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 39-28 defeat the last time these two teams met.

South Whidbey had a senior duo take command as Cody Redford dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds and Sage Northup posted 12 points. Those 13 boards gave Redford a new career-high.

South Whidbey pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Eastside Prep, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

South Whidbey didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-57 victory against East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] on the 1st. As for Eastside Prep, they will take on Overlake at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Overlake knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Eastside Prep likes a good challenge.
