Soccer Game Preview: Middleton vs. Riverside

Middleton is 0-3 against Riverside since April of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tigers will square off against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Middleton has given up an average of 7 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Middleton is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Adamsville, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, Riverside had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. Everything went their way against the Rockets as they made off with a 10-2 victory. Riverside might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

Riverside pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those four contests. As for Middleton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Middleton suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Riverside in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 3-0.
