Football Recap: North Edgecombe Takes a Loss + How To Watch

North Edgecombe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 27-20 to the Southside Seahawks. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Seahawks from their previous meeting back in November of 2015.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 12 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Emmanuel Coley, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from Saadiq Barber.

North Edgecombe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Southside, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Edgecombe will challenge Beddingfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southside, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Washington County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
