Baseball Game Preview: Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors vs. San Jose Bulldogs

Yerba Buena is on a ten-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and San Jose a five-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors will welcome the San Jose Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Yerba Buena has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Yerba Buena came up short against Mt. Pleasant on Thursday, falling 18-1.

Meanwhile, San Jose suffered their closest defeat since April 17, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of James Lick by a score of 11-9.

Krish Dilidili was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Yanez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Even though they lost, San Jose always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher in three consecutive contests.

San Jose's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Yerba Buena, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Yerba Buena couldn't quite get it done against San Jose in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can Yerba Buena avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
