Michael Gerst posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Wednesday. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Marshall is 5-0-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 1-2 otherwise.
