Baseball Recap: Valmeyer Comes Up Short

Valmeyer lost against Valle Catholic back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Valmeyer took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Valle Catholic. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Luke Blackwell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Valmeyer: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Roy, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Valmeyer now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Valle Catholic, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valmeyer will venture away from home to challenge Belleville East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valle Catholic, they will head out to face off against St. Vincent at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
