Milton had lost six straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it seven. They took a 16-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Midd-West Mustangs. On the bright side, the 13- run effort marked the Black Panthers' highest-scoring contest to date.

Milton got a massive performance out of Chase Lytle, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brady Wolfe, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As for Midd-West, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6. They haven't had any issues with Milton recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

On Midd-West's side, the team relied heavily on Kyle Shupp, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and two doubles. Those five runs gave Shupp a new career-high. Alex Trogan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Milton and Midd-West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Black Panthers will challenge Mount Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (491 vs. 139). Meanwhile, Midd-West (ranked 403rd) will meet Danville (ranked 86th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
