Recap: Pueblo South Colts vs. Pueblo County Hornets
The Pueblo South Colts were the 65-39 winner over the Pueblo County Hornets when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Pueblo South took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pueblo County on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Pueblo South still got an impressive performance from Maurice Austin, who scored 32 points along with three steals. That was a full 59.3% of Pueblo South's points, marking the 14th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Flowers, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Pueblo South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pueblo South now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Pueblo County, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pueblo South will challenge Pueblo West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pueblo West will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Pueblo County, they will head out on the road to face off against Pueblo East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
