Basketball Recap: Crofton Takes a Loss

Crofton was the 67-44 winner over Northeast when they last played one another back in January of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. Crofton had to suffer through a 70-42 loss at the hands of Northeast. While losing is never fun, Crofton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Northeast is ranked 50th).

Brynn Jones produced another solid performance almost dropping a triple-double with 15 points, nine rebounds, and 13 assists for Northeast. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Starr Munford was another key player, shooting 56% from the field en route to 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Crofton's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Northeast, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Crofton will head out on the road to face off against Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northeast, they will face off against Severn Run at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
