Lake Brantley hadn't beaten Lake Mary on the road since May 3, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Lake Brantley Patriots narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lake Mary Rams 5-4. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 7, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Lucas Ostolaza looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Justus Mike was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Lake Brantley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Mary, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Lake Brantley will head out to face off against Seminole at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Brantley's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Seminole's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lake Mary, they will welcome Hagerty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hagerty will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Lake Mary surely won't give up without a fight.
