Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Chippewa Hills

Chippewa Hills had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Reed City on Tuesday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Coyotes. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ella Newman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Newman was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Marfio, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Erin Riesenberg was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Chippewa Hills now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Reed City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Chippewa Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Coyotes: the pair will be back at it again later today.
