Soccer Game Preview: Peninsula Catholic vs. Steward

Peninsula Catholic hasn't had much luck against Steward recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Spartans at 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Peninsula Catholic's offense. They came up short against Norfolk Collegiate on Tuesday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Peninsula Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Norfolk Collegiate are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Steward made sure to put some goals up on the board against Norfolk Christian on Tuesday. They never let the Ambassadors get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Steward's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Peninsula Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Steward, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

Peninsula Catholic suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Steward in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
