Softball Recap: Mildred Eagles vs. Eustace Bulldogs

Mildred was the 18-5 winner over Eustace when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Mildred Eagles fell victim to a tough 15-9 loss at the hands of the Eustace Bulldogs on Friday. Mildred has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Eustace's part, Madilyn Andrews made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Andrews has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in six consecutive pitching appearances. Andrews was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Sadie Jo Long was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Marissa Long, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

As for Eustace, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kemp at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eustace is facing Kemp at the right time seeing as Kemp is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
