Football Recap: Poudre Piles Up the Points Against Greeley West + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Poudre). They blew past the Greeley West Spartans, posting a 45-7 win. The Impalas have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans on Thursday, too.

Poudre was led to victory by Mason Carter and Max Shubert. Carter rushed for 66 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Shubert rushed for 110 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries. Carter got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 64 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Poudre was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 97 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five games they've averaged 180.7.

Poudre didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Mason Harris, Charlie Swanson, and Tyler Trujillo picked up one apiece. Harris also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

Poudre's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Greeley West, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
