It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Apple Valley had no problem doing just that on Friday. They slipped by the North Saxons 21-20. The victory was nothing new for the Sun Devils as they're now sitting on four straight.
The critical scores for Apple Valley came from Jewelein Washington, Davion Swan-Satterwhite, and Nathan Arceo.
Apple Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 228 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North only rushed for 73.
When it comes to explaining why North lost, don't look at Ethan Edwards. Despite the final result, he threw for 234 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 61 yards and one score. The Saxons' leading receiver Kchole Mataele-Juarez was Edwards' top target yet again, picking up 94 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Apple Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
