Volleyball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian lost against Lamar back in September of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Raiders. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Meridian was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Lamar's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-9, 25-10.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Lamar, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Meridian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Choctaw County on the 30th. As for Lamar, they will head out to challenge Hartfield Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 7th.
