Colonial Heights managed to keep up with Petersburg until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Colonial Heights came up short against Petersburg, falling 75-52. Meanwhile, Southampton posted their closest win since January 3, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged Franklin out 55-52. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Broncos are ranked 302nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Colonial Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Southampton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Everything came up roses for Colonial Heights against Southampton when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 90-61 win. In that game, Colonial Heights amassed a halftime lead of 64-30, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
