Somerset Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past True North Classical Academy, posting a 79-20 win. Given Somerset Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while True North Classical Academy is ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Gabrielle King, who made all 10 shots she took for 25 points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds. Those seven steals gave her a new career-high. Riley Stoker was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards.

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Lions on Thursday. Westminster Academy claimed a resounding 75-12 victory over Chaminade-Madonna. The win was familiar territory for Westminster Academy, who have now won five games in a row.

Westminster Academy pushed their record up to 21-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points over those games. As for Somerset Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 18-10 record this season.
