Basketball Game Preview: Ottawa Cyclones vs. Silver Lake Eagles

Ottawa hasn't had much luck against Silver Lake recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Ottawa Cyclones will square off against the Silver Lake Eagles. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Ottawa is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Paola by a score of 77-65 on Friday. Given the Cyclones' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Panthers are ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Silver Lake waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the Tigers to the tune of 61-31. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 30 points or more this season.

Silver Lake pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points per game. As for Ottawa, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Ottawa lost to Silver Lake on the road by a decisive 64-46 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Ottawa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
