Basketball Recap: Westminster Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Westminster Christian Academy lost against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Westminster Christian Academy Wildcats were beaten by the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles 64-31. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Eagles are ranked 42nd).

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Eastman, who went 5 for 11 en route to 17 points and five assists. Eastman is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Genie Mcghee was another key player, putting up four points in addition to eight boards, six blocks, and five assists.

Westminster Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

When Westminster Christian Academy and Decatur Heritage Christian Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Westminster Christian Academy will challenge Fort Payne and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Decatur Heritage Christian Academy will try to stop Priceville's six-game winning streak when the meet at 9:00 a.m. on Monday.
