Basketball Game Preview: Dominion Academy Sabers vs. CHESS Christian Royals

The Dominion Academy Sabers will venture away from home to take on the CHESS Christian Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dominion Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 37-16 margin over Temple Christian. That 21-point margin sets a new team best for the Sabers this season.

Meanwhile, CHESS Christian beat Liberty Bible Academy 37-29 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Royals.

Dominion Academy better focus on containing Ava Ponchot and Elisia Peebles as the pair were huge in CHESS Christian's win. Ponchot dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards, while Peebles almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. CHESS Christian is 8-1 when Ponchot posts eight or more boards, but 2-3 otherwise. Kiersten Farler was another key player, putting up four points and five rebounds.

CHESS Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

CHESS Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Dominion Academy, the victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 3-5.
