Softball Recap: Franklin Yellowjackets vs. Stagg Delta Kings

Franklin extended their losing streak to 12 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-13 in the process. They came up short against the Stagg Delta Kings, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Delta Kings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-0 back in March.

Franklin saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jasmine Nieto, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one double.

As for Stagg, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games.

On Stagg's side, Rachael Symoungkhoune was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Aliana Chavez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Franklin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 16-3 defeat against Chavez on the 5th. As for Stagg, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 loss against Edison on the 5th.
