Softball Recap: Mason County Central Comes Up Short at Home Against Hart

Mason County Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 16-9 to the Hart Pirates on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost nine in a row.

Ellen Haner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Mikaylah McVicker, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hart beat Mason County Central by a score of 13-9 later that day.
